Statement of intent draft 1 Media Language The intention of my productions for my coursework will be to produce a realistic Dance music video featuring the song 'Summer' By Calvin Harris. as well as a cohesive website for the dance Dj that i have created. The video will present many conventions of the dance music genre as well as featuring the artist .  for the mies-en-scene in terms of clothing I will use typical summer clothing such as beach dresses and bikinis to illustrate a dance party theme and summer settings.  for the camera work i will include the usage of summer holiday settings and having moments of slow motion to evoke relaxation as well as contrasting fast motion shots, with ranging angles, such as closeups to wide angle shots. This music video sets the scene in an exotic location all pictures illustrate a bright ethereal sky. the lower half has a sandy landscape with mixed colours of red and grey which highly contrasts against the bright blue sky and darker bluish mountainous landscape in the background. which seemingly blends into the sky. also within the scene is a white block structure in the middle of the shot which could suggest the location of the rest of the music video. this is ambiguous and present's an adventurous element due to the atypical location. in terms of camera work the shot is captured statically, there is no movement and the next shot just appears without a transition filter. the actual picture may have been edited to make the colours seem brighter

Dance music artist website research AVICII WEBSITE This website is evidently for a dance music artist as it features locational images such as the rocks and trees like the ones featured in conventional music videos. Unlike other dance artist websites the colour scheme is limited due to the artist's recent death. This can be displayed by the main image because of the ethereal white misty sky which can be compared to a heavenly scene. The gold tree and birds can symbolise the fact that his music will continue to live on as his legacy.  It also shows the logo for the Artist's brand which promotes the artist's brand. it has a link to Spotify on the green Spotify logo. Genre conventions of dance music What makes all of these music videos from the dance music genre? all videos feature the following: fast cut shots that are in time of the music beat. close up shots of characters within the video. bright theme colours including the clothing filtered lighting and special effects.  charcters are all dancing in lively atmosphere/environments. sometimes slow motion editing is used to juxtapose the fast music and highlight the energy of the music video. the videos also feature trendy clothing, especially the Cola music video which features a lot of Adidas brand clothing. Newspaper Analysis This newspaper displays the 2017 election results at the bottom of the page. the whole cover focuses on this article as it was the main story of the day. Contrast of images: Theresa May is captured in a bleak and grey colour scheme, standing in front of 10 downing street, the image itself is comically captured to degrade her femininity by making her look less attractive, un-quaffed hair and open mouth expression on her face which makes her seem more informal.
